Sheringham Beach and Cliff Tour

The prom stretches to the left and is a very pleasant walk.  You are able to take your dogs along the prom, but there are restrictions on the beaches, check the boards for the times of year they apply.  But PLEASE remember, we keep a nice clean beach for all to enjoy - if your dogs answers the call of nature make sure you are able to dispose of it properly - fines are levied for Dog Fouling.

Access to the beach is excellent and the sand is firm to walk on, easy to push a buggy along (at least I managed several years ago) and you can walk along the waters edge with no fear of the tide trapping you.

Between the huge rocks, which were brought in recent years to improve the sea defences, you can find beautiful Rock Pools.

These pools provide hours of safe entertainment for young children.   Look for starfish, crabs, sea anemones, seaweeds.  They can splash and paddle to their heart's content in safety.

NEVER TAKE YOUR EYES OFF CHILDREN ON THE BEACH - SEE THE BEACH RULES PUBLISHED ON SITE.

Standing at the edge of the sea and on our East Beach you can see the colourful beach huts which line this end of the promenade. Old fashioned they may be, but for some they are like a second home during the summer, their own beachfront property.  Very useful if you have a family or a more mature member of the family along with you.  You can use it for getting changed or just to relax out of the sun.

If you then look to your right all you see is sandy beaches split by groynes and the town of Sheringham on the clifftop.

No matter what the weather, you will always find someone in the sea.  Some of the older generation of Sheringham have bathed almost daily in the sea and attribute their good health to the practise.  Personally, I like to wait a while and have the sun shining!

Standing on the slope, if you look eastwards you can see stretches of sandy beach, the solid promenade stops just out of view of this photograph, but you can just keep walking!

Look straight ahead, there's nothing but beautiful, clean sea and the sandy beach which is ideal for families.
