The Putting Green, Station Approach, Sheringham
The Putting Green on Station Approach was, many years ago, known as Lushers Fields. This was back in the days when the town of Sheringham stopped at St Peter's Road.
I have heard tell that a chain used to be drawn across Station Approach to stop traffic from using it.
For as many years as I can remember it has been a putting green. Many an hour has been whiled away here, with the sounds of the Steam Railway in the background.
There is plenty of seating around the course for you to rest your weary bones, or just enjoy the summer sunshine.
The floral displays are always a joy to see, so why not pop along for a quick game.
It is a peaceful way to while away an afternoon, or to pass the time while you wait for a bus.
